The ideal candidate for this position will be:
-Motivated, hardworking, and self-starting
-Multidisciplinary with experience in all technical fields
-Earned a BA/BFA in technical theatre, Preferably a MA/MFA with professional experience
-Has knowledge of CAD (Vectorworks or AutoCAD), wood and metal construction, scenic art techniques, engineering of scenic elements, and budgeting.
-Focuses on safety
Job duties include:
-Scenic design 6 to 7 shows a year
-Lighting design 3 to 4 shows a year
-Supervise and assist in scenic construction
-Supervise all technical departments
-Recruit, train, and retain, backstage and construction volunteers
-Interview and employ additional designers and staff as needed
-Attend staff and production meetings
-Conduct theatre building deploying outside contractors when required.
