Soapbox Stageworks is thrilled to announce a call for submissions for the Premiere Central Coast Solo Festival, taking place in September 2026 at the historic Stanton Theatre in Portola Plaza, Monterey, California.

This exciting new festival celebrates bold, original solo performances and is the first of its kind on California’s Central Coast. We invite playwrights and performers to submit compelling one-person works for consideration.

Submission Guidelines
• Solo plays must be no longer than 60 minutes in performance length.
• Submissions must include:
– Full script
– Playwright/performer biography
– Synopsis
– Optional: videos and/or production photos
• A $25 submission fee is required.
• Deadline: June 15, 2026 (extended deadline).

Festival Details
Selected solo works will be performed at the Stanton Theatre in Monterey.
• Playwrights/performers selected for the festival are responsible for an additional $150 production fee.
• Soapbox Stageworks will provide the theatre, marketing, and basic technical support.
• Additional technical support is available for a $50 fee.
• All performers must arrive fully prepared to perform; Soapbox Stageworks does not provide directing, rehearsal support, or artistic development services.
