National & Local Awards Recognition
To honor those who have contributed significantly to community theatre.
In order to honor those who have contributed significantly to community theatre, AACT bestows three major types of recognition: AACT Fellows, National Awards, and local Spotlight Awards. National Awards and Fellows recognition are annual, while Spotlight Awards may be presented at any time.
AACT FELLOWS
The designation “AACT Fellow” is bestowed for life upon those members of AACT who over a period of years have contributed significantly to the idea and ideal of community theatre. Both nomination and election to this select group are the responsibility of the current Fellows membership.
National Awards
AACT honors individuals and organizations with the Art Cole Lifetime of Leadership Award, Corporate Award, David C. Bryant Outstanding Service Award, Distinguished Merit Award, Mort Clark International Achievement Award, Robert E. Gard Superior Volunteer Award, Special Recognition Award, and the Twink Lynch Organizational Achievement Award.
Spotlight Awards
The recognition of special local achievement is made possible with AACT's Spotlight Award. Member theatres across the nation can nominate any individual, organization or company. Spotlight Award applications may be submitted at any time, and awards may be presented at any time during the year that is appropriate.
Service Awards
AACT is truly grateful for the contributions and commitment of our Board, Volunteers, Committee Members, and Staff. We are gratified by the energy, enthusiasm, and dedication they bring to their roles and work in support of community theatre in America. In celebration of our volunteers, service pins are presented to recognize five-year milestones of volunteer and staff service. For 2020, the AACT Board of Directors recognizes those below who have served AACT as Board members, on committees and other groups, and as State Contacts.
