Call for Workshops
AACT is committed to helping theatres find needed answers amid the current global (health) crisis. Now, more than ever, we're here to help. With that in mind, the AACT Workshops Committee is offering you the opportunity to share your expertise with others at AACTFest 2021, the national festival in Louisville, Kentucky, June 14-19, 2021.
Send your proposal for a workshop via the form at the bottom of this page--and in developing a topic, don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Proposals must be received by November 15, 2020.
Of special interest this time would be topics related to COVID-19 recovery, including outreach, reinventing productions, audience safety, and communications.
Popular workshops in the past have covered subjects such as:
- Acting (various styles and techniques)
- Fight Choreography
- Musical Theatre
- Starting a Special Needs Theatre Program
- Theatre for Youth
- Technology, from IT to websites to social media
We also would like to see more proposals for workshops on:
- Technical theatre
- Board Development
- Organizational Transitions (hiring your first staff)
- New and/or cutting edge issues or topics that our attendees would benefit from
Workshops are well received when those in attendance have a chance to learn by doing, so please keep that in mind as you put together your proposal. Most workshops will be in the traditional 75-minute format, but we’re open to ideas for longer and shorter presentations.
The Workshop Committee is interested in suggestions for new and exciting workshop topics that could be presented. Email your workshop ideas to Nancy Eppert at firstname.lastname@example.org
AACT does not provide honorariums for general session workshop presenters.
